To do in the Summer
The campsite is located next to the E14, and therefore the perfect base for exploring all that Jämtland has to offer.
The campsite is ideal for those who love to fish. In the river Indalsälven you can fish on grayling and trout. The campsite is located directly on St. Olav’s trail that goes all the way from Selånger, close to Sundsvall, to Trondheim in Norway. On the hiking trail in the woods near Ristafallet there is also a St.Olavs well. Even the experienced hikers will not have enough time to explore all the nice hiking tours in the area. In the surroundings there is much more to do. Spot some reindeer or moose? Try boogiesurfing downstream from the waterfall? Visit one of the many beautiful old churches in the area, take the ‘cable car’ to the top of mount Åreskutan? Have we mentioned the nice child-friendly beaches?
There is so much to do in the area that we can’t mention everything. For more information about extreme sports you can have a look at www.jope.se. On www.visitare.se there are lots of activities and attractions. In the reception we can help you with more information or a reservation of activity.
To do in the Winter
Ristafallet camping is also in winter a perfect base to explore all that Jämtland has to offer.
The campsite is located 18 kilometers from Åre which is known for its large alpine areas and nice trails for those who want to ski cross-country. But there is much more to do. Do you want go dog sledding or go snowmobiling? And what do you think of ice climbing on the waterfall or feeding the reindeer? For more information about skiing you can look at www.skistar.se. On www.visitare.se you can find lots of activities and attractions. In the reception we can help you with more information and reservations.
